Permanent foster home needed for Pippa
Pippa is a beautiful older Collie, estimated to be 10+, who came into our care as a stray. On arrival, we initially believed she was suffering from a mammary infection and she was started on treatment, but it quickly became clear that her condition was far more serious. Pippa was found to have a large hernia and required urgent, life-saving surgery — a significant risk at her age, but one we had to take to give her a chance. True to her nature, Pippa has been incredibly brave, coping well with surgery and making a steady recovery. She does also have a small mammary mass that will need addressing, and is currently on daily pain relief to support her mobility.
Due to her age and ongoing medical needs, we are looking for a loving permanent foster home for Pippa. This means she would live with you as your own, enjoying the comfort and security of a real home, while we continue to cover all veterinary costs. We do have a few requirements — fosterers must be based within Pembrokeshire and be able to attend veterinary appointments at Fenton, Haverfordwest and/or Pembroke Dock. Pippa is a calm, sweet-natured girl who is very dog friendly and simply deserves to spend her twilight years surrounded by kindness and care.
